The word Architect derives from the Greek word ARCHITEKTON; a combination of two words, ARCHI (chief), and TEK-TON (builder) that denote the superlative degree of excellence and the art of making-building things. The Middle-Age conception of the master builder mutates in the Renaissance with Leon Battista Alberti; the “power of the mind” became separated from the “craft of the hand”, hence the division of the two professions of Architect and Builder.

 

Architecture is born from the civilization of populations, from the development of Industrialization, from different schools of thinking and great visionaries that contributed to the betterment of our society.  Architecture is the discipline that allows people to perceive, observe, and analyze spaces and the world that surrounds them. This happens through a different pair of lenses that give new perspectives on the surrounding built environment and on our society.  

 

Shelter and pleasure are the foundations of modern Architecture, the well-being derives from the union of all these elements that favor better conditions of living and field innovation. Aesthetics, the artistic sense and the science of construction characterize the art of designing. The Architect, with an awareness of the past, designs for the present imagining a future which is essentially unknown.
